Paradise near Loreto
Left on Mar 12, 2014 for a stay in Mar 2014
Villa Linda Mar has everything you look for, but rarely find, in a quiet beach getaway. The new casitas are designed for comfort and convenience, with all the amenities you could want - including modern appliances and even a margarita view deck! The beach is away from the activity of the town, but close enough to easily get there for a quick fix of activity. The views are spectacular - you are right there with the sea life and Coronado Island straight ahead. Our favorite activities were swimming every day, and taking long walks along the beach, but if you also want to have the perfect retreat to just sit and relax and do nothing, nowhere could be better!
Perfect Vacation

This place is perfect for someone that wants to be out of the town scene but close enough to get supplies when you need them. It is very quiet and the views are absolutely gorgeous. Johannes and Linda are perfect hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They even met us at the airport so that we would find our way as it was after dark before we started out of town. Johannes also arranged our day trip to Coronado Island which is a must if you're staying in Loreto. As for the scenery, the only thing more beautiful than the sunset over the mountains in your backyard is the sunrise over the Sea of Cortez in your front yard. The casita we rented was exactly as described and is brand new. It was beautifully appointed and the perfect size for our group of 5 adults. Very comfortable. We are already planning our return trip. One more thing as I could go on and on about this place. Johannes recommended a restaurant that is about a half mile from Villa Linda Mar called La Picazon and it is really REALLY good. Food, atmosphere, view, it has it all. If you are looking for a quiet absolutely beautiful vacation spot, Villa Linda Mar is it. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderful Experience

Ideal location for our needs, along a beautiful stretch of the coastline with a nice view of Isla Coronado and surrounded by rolling hills of typical Baja desert vegetation and wildlife. A permanent anchor just offshore allowed me to keep my boat there at night (water temps were ~80 degrees and fishing was good). The casa was new, clean and very well designed and equipped. The owners live onsite and were extremely pleasant and helpful. It was an easy 20 minute drive over decent dirt roads to Loreto and it's delicious restaurants, but the casa was still well away from the noise and bright lights of the town at night. Two other casas and the pool are nearly finished, which would make this a great destination for groups of friends or large families. We look forward to our next visit.
Everything about the listing is valid, and more!

I usually don't write reviews for all the diverse places we travel but this one is exceptional! Everything on the listing is accurate. New construction with new furnishings and linens. However, the property is currently under construction but that was no issue to us for our unit was complete and well finished. Johanass and Linda were gracious hosts and very accommodating. Excellent restaurant within walking distance (300 meters). It is out of town on a rough two-track but easily navigated with any rental car. The advantage is peace and quiet right on the Sea of Cortez. The downside, well, no bars and discos! One trip to town a day was sufficient for tours as well as groceries. We spent our days diving and whale watching and the evenings with cocktails on the patio listening to nightsounds and surf. Excellent value and we would definately return!
